Es gibt noch letzte Restplätze in einzelnen ADILT-Veranstaltungen, auf die wir gerne noch einmal besonders hinweisen möchten – die Veranstaltungen Nr. 1 und 2 sind überfachlich und richten sich an alle Studierenden; Veranstaltung Nr. 3 hat einen thematischen Fokus auf Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften, Veranstaltung Nr. 4 ist vorrangig für Chemie-Studierende gedacht, weitere Naturwissenschaftler sind willkommen, wenn die Plätze ausreichen. Alle Veranstaltungen sind für Studierende mit und ohne Vorkenntnisse geeignet.

1. No-Code AI & Data Science Student Project (KNIME), ADILT Block 2

KNIME is a data processing platform with headquarters in Konstanz at the Seerhein (knime.com) and invites students to take part in a ‘Data Challenge’. There are instructions on the programme and supervised working hours for a set task – in addition to the opportunity to earn 3 ECTS credits, the main prize is an internship!

The presentation of KNIME in the ADILT lecture series in the winter semester 2022/23 also offers a preview; everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced students!

2. ADILT Data Philosophy, ADILT Block 3

This course is an introduction to the philosophical study of foundations, methods, and implications of data science. It addresses general philosophical questions arising in the data science process, a process which starts with gathering raw data and producing clean data, then it continues with finding patterns in Data and formulating sensible hypotheses, and it ends with modelling and predicting.

Interactive course and live online sessions: There will be a weekly online live session and interactive online material for self-study.

3.) Introduction to R for the humanities, ADILT Block 2

In this course, we will explore R & RStudio, specifically focusing on the advantages and challenges the programming language provides when working with data formats commonly found in the humanities (e.g. word lists and texts, corpus distribution tables, transcriptions, and survey results). Students will work through all aspects of a typical data handling process: from scraping, importing and managing, cleaning and restructuring, analysing data, and, finally, communicating data observations through documentation and visualisations.

This is a course aimed at beginners! No previous knowledge of R is expected. Please note that you should have a laptop with you for the sessions (or organise a rental from the university).

4.) KI-gestütztes Lernen im Fachbereich Chemie: Workshop zu einem reflektierten und fundierten Umgang mit generativen KI-Tools, ADILT Block 2

Dieser Kurs macht Euch fit für den reflektierten und effektiven Einsatz generativer KI-Tools im Studienalltag. Dabei steht der sinnvolle und kritische Umgang mit den Tools im Vordergrund. Da sich bei der konkreten Anwendung häufig die Frage ergibt, was im Fach dabei erwünscht und erlaubt ist, wird auch dieses Thema Raum finden.
